Before I get to Sensei Mark Anthoneys question this edition, I want
to bring something to your attention. In our everday lives all the
time we see items offered for free. Buy this and get this item free.
Register for free gift. Everyone offers us free gifts. This has
become so common that we take it in stride, and usually look over
it, because alot of the times, it really isn\'t free, and if it is,
it is of little or no value. We have been tricked so many times,
when a real value or treasure comes along, we overlook it.
What am I getting too? Well, everyone that is a subscriber to this
site has gotten or is in the process of receiving the free book I am
offering The 8 Steps To Golf, by Joe Novak. This book was published
in 1939, and is a true golf classic. It is full of helpful
information and advice. But, because it is free, I am afraid that
many of you have overlooked it and have not taken advantage of this
free product.
I did have the book summarized (by a lady that is a former golf
pro)so it would not take you so long to read it; very little of the
valuable information has been removed. This book is not just
something that I added so that I could offer you something free. It
is a great piece of work.
Regularly I get an email from someone that tells me how much this
book has helped them, and they would like for me to sell it in hard
print so they could have their own copy. They tell me it has been a
great help to improve their golf score. I will probably remove the
free offer from the website, and offer it in hard copy in the near
future.
But my point is; This is The No B.S. Golf Newsletter. I do not
intend to offer any Bull on this site. All of my products are proven
products, and can help you improve your game. I get calls from
people that purchase my products, and they tell me how much these
products have helped them. Sometimes I rate these products, and I
will do so in this newsletter soon. But all of the products I offer
on www.thinkandreachpar.com are no-fluff products.
Anyway, to make a short story long, the whole purpose of the above
comments is to prepare you for this email that I received this
morning. I am proud of this email, because this gentleman took a
product that I offered for free, studied it, and then put it into
practice. He has had much success with The 8 Steps to Golf.
Vivek Kirshan from India, I congratulate you and salute you, you
have done an outstanding job and I wish you continued success. Here
is Vivek\'s email to me.

Now this weeks question from Sensei Mark Anthony.
Reggie...
You asked:
Are you aware of any literature which relates to proper club
selection
relative to distance and/or environmental conditions? I would
appreciate any
assistance you can provide.
Thanking you in advance.
Reggie Southard
I believe that you\'re referring to wind and wet so here goes...
In selecting a club in wet conditions, be aware that whether you
know it or not, you\'ll sink into the ground more than on a dry day.
Make sure that with your irons, You choke down (shorten the club by
gripping further down the shaft than usual) a minimum of 1/2 inch to
make up for this. If you don\'t, you\'ll hit \"fat shots\" i.e. the
turf before the ball, more often than not.
In addition, place the ball in the center of your stance with all of
your irons. Doing this helps you hit a crisper, cleaner shot for two
reasons.
1. When the ball is placed in the center of the stance, it puts the
ball in the place where you\'re most likely to make contact with it
without having to adjust your swing.
2. The center of the stance is the place in which your club head is
at its peak speed and most likely to be square.
Now because you have shortened you club, you may have to take one
more club than usual to hit the ball as far as you\'re used to.
In Wind...
In the wind you must remember that any type of curve you may put on
the ball WILL be amplified. It doesn\'t matter whether you hook or
slice. If its windy, the curve will intensify.
Here\'s what you might want to try. Its almost the same advice as
the last section so pay attention.
1. In a strong headwind, tee the ball low in the center of your
stance and swing with a 3/4 swing. Take more club than usual if
you\'re selecting a specific target like a par three, etc.
2. Swing easy. If you swing hard, you\'ll put more spin on the ball
and if it happens to be a hook, draw, slice or fade, it will curve
more than usual. You want to hit the ball under the wind and caution
means the better part of valor here. You\'re looking to score not
impress.
3. To hit a lower shot, swing with a flatter swing through and roll
your hands over so that your right hand is in a \"handshake\"
position with the thumb up through the ball as opposed to a
\"hitchhiker\" position where the thumb would be out through impact.
Try those things Reggie and get back to me..
Thanks
Sensei Mark
